Impressive eye-catcher
2011, Bonn
We construct central stringer stairs for you as central stringer stairs or with an external support rail.
Central stringer stairs | Construction
The supporting stringer is usually made of round tubes (steel or stainless steel). However, stringer constructions made of rectangular tubes or triangular stringers also make for an impressive appearance.
Regardless of whether you prefer wood, stone or glass as a step covering - central stringer stairs are an eye-catcher in any combination and are suitable for all linings. A successful contrast is provided by designs in which the strength of the stringer is set off by the lightness of glass. Light-colored woods also form a perfect contrast to the dominant steel stringer.
Single stringer stairs
As the name suggests, the supporting structure of single stringer staircases consists of just one stringer. Thanks to this design, they are always an impressive eye-catcher in the middle of living spaces or in modern stairwells. Single stringer staircases fit into any living scene like a sculpture as a design element. This appearance is particularly characterized by a step construction, especially the risers.

Single-stringer staircase for modern living
This staircase in a residential building in Bonn demonstrates the contrast between lightness and strength. The steel staircase was fixed to the unfinished floor with steel floor plates using a load-bearing central spar made from a welded rectangular tube. The METALLART experts executed the single-stringer staircase in accordance with DIN 18065 and with steel treads welded onto the stringer.
Design in glass and steel
The staircase layout is straight at the entrance and exit, and the single stringer staircase is evenly rounded in between. The flight width is up to approx. 900 mm. Matt white glass treads with an all-over screen-printed surface were used for slip resistance. The stair railing consists of double flat steel posts and a stainless steel handrail. Horizontal stainless steel round bars serve as railing infill.

Due to the design, proof of suitability for welding stainless steels and proof of suitability for welding steel/stainless steel joints is required.
All steel parts made of St 37-2, scale-free, bright material, all visible weld seams ground, surface primed for corrosion protection and finished in DB 703.
All stainless steel parts material number 1.4301, surface ground 320 grit (uniform grinding pattern)
